About the region :
Located in the heartland of Japan, Aichi is linked by direct flights about 30 cities across the globe, and lies midway on an east-west line running from Tokyo, Japan's capital, to Osaka, the largest city in western Japan.
Since ancient times the area has served as a key transportation hub.
Nagoya, the prefecture's capital, is a major metropolis with the population of about 2.1 million ranking alongside Tokyo and Osaka; it has evolved as the economic, administrative, and cultural center of the surrounding central Japan region.
It takes about 2 hours from Tokyo, 1 hour from Osaka and 40 minutes from Kyoto by SHINKANSEN bullet train. Aichi is known for its bountiful natural environment, and has many sites of historical interest and tourist attractions.
Toyota Motor and Noritake China are among world-renowned manufacturers in the region.
From March to September 2005, Aichi hosts the World Exposition (EXPO) under the theme メNature's Wisdomモ to propose new directions for solving the global scale problems confronting humanity in the 21st century.
About the exchanges :
Aichi has four distinct seasons. The best seasons to visit Japan are during the spring (March to May) and fall (September to November).
It is neither hot nor cold during these months, however it may be a little cool in the evenings.
During the exchange, our club usually holds a welcome or farewell party and arranges one day bus trip to Kyoto or Nara or other places to comply with a request of Ambassadors.
